Many would-be ready citizens are scared away from emergency preparedness due to misconceptions about the cost and time investment required. The purpose of this short guide is to introduce beginning “preppers” and those still on the fence to the essentials of survival.
Prepping for Doomsday cuts out the fluff and doom and gloom focusing instead on the items your family would likely need to weather a natural, man-made or accidental disaster. Topics range from food to first aid to identifying risks. You will find a few points of preparedness that are often overlooked. To wrap things up, an extensive do-it-yourself checklist has been included that allows for not only emergency requirements but also some “creature comforts” to help you and your family make the best of a bad situation.
Pick up this guide if you are new to emergency preparedness and are looking for the necessary information and tips to ensure your family can handle almost any disaster event.

Prepping for Doomsday A Beginner's Guide to Emergency Preparedness - edition by Angie Nelson, Dan Nelson. Politics & Social Sciences eBooks @ . Reviews
Great started book! It's short and covers all the baby steps for prepping. It also opens the reader's mind to critical thinking about how to prep for their needs and area.
The information contained in this booklet is very good; however, why should you pay for information that you can get it for free? Or maybe I should write, "...since you've already paid for it, via your taxes..." The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) publishes "Are You Ready? An In-depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness," which is available for free download (in Spanish, too) via the FEMA website.
As for this booklet, if you can get it for free, it contains a good basic summary. But I wouldn't pay for it.
